過年有什麼節目嗎？今年多倫多的氣溫好像特別冷，最近是否好一些了？〈真是慚愧！由於最近沉迷跳舞，連新聞都少看了〉。
由於在舞蹈班認識了許多新朋友，我的社交生活好像忽然忙碌了起來，自聖誕節之後，飯局不斷，這幾天有時還得趕場，全然顛覆了我們這些年的“自閉”生活，老馮也得“婦唱夫隨”的跟著跑〈因為朋友的老公們都來這裡過年了〉，也真難為了他。

說到減肥，我倒覺得妳以前太瘦了，現在才恰恰好呢。^_^
跟往年一樣，我們今年的春節也沒有特別慶祝。只是朋友送來各式年糕，連吃了好幾天還沒吃完。
昨天朋友燒了一張美國版的"Shall We Dance"給我，加上妳給的，現在我美日本兩版都全了，真開心！
"West Wing"連續幾年都得獎，一定很不錯，只是我一直都沒看過。最近看了幾齣大陸拍的DVD連續劇，其中有幾部像"婆婆"、"青鳥的天空"、"梧桐雨"、"康定情歌"都還不錯。不過，妳忙著跳舞，大概也沒太多時間看連續劇了吧。^_^

哇！妳還真把我的“相簿”forward給同學啊，我真是“愛現”得可以！人家琇瑩的“香功”功力不知有多深厚，也沒見她嚷嚷，我才學會幾支基本舞步，就迫不及待地向妳敲鑼打鼓，看妳傳送的那串同學名單，我都羞得不知該往何處躲了。
有一件事一直忘了問妳，自從我上次電腦中毒Austin 幫我重建之後，我在我們班網頁的通訊綠上，就再看不到各同學的照片及家庭簡介﹝只有一份整齊的姓名及地址電話名單﹞，問Austin，他說可能妳因容量的關係把它取消了，
但妳又偶爾會傳來同學的有新照片的通知，﹝雖然我總是找來找去看不到﹞，我心裡一直納悶，會不會是我的電腦少裝了什麼東西？
我最近是較沒時間看電視，因為舞蹈班也有很多homework﹝我是插班生，必須加倍努力趕進度﹞，我現在電視劇的“存糧”，已經多到Austin 都不肯幫我燒了，看來以後可得靠妳及涂伯伯介紹我哪部片子好看才燒，等有空再慢慢消化。^_^

Happy New Year!!!
I am using mama's e-mail account sending this mail from Seoul. Mama's account on my laptop in Seoul has no problem receiving and sending e-mails. However, there is still some problem with the POP3 setting for our antique PC (Dial-up, 4 MB RAM and Win 98 still...) in Taipei. Now from Taipei we can only receive mails but unable to send. I guess we will wait till next time I go back to Taipei.
I check mama's e-mail everyday. If there is any mail from the classmates, I always forward those mails to papa's office address. Consequently, the 3 returned mails you mentioned over the phone should not be PC home's sever problem. I will keep checking mama's mail as usual.
Seoul is 14F recently. I assume Toronto is no better. Please keep warm.

Originally Mama would also like to send you one picture taken during the gathering for Ding A-Yi, featuring only the five gentlemen (hence very clear). As mentioned before, at this moment we could not send mails from the PC in Taipei. Accordingly, Mama suggested contacting Ding A-Yi, as Mama mailed her the pictures via post office. If Ding A-Yi has no scanner at home, I will fix the PC in Taipei and send the picture when next time I go home.

Hi all.
Just want to inform you that our beloved Tu Bobo (涂肇慶) was in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong, for a month since March 14, 2005.Fortunately, he is back to his Hong Kong home to recuperate now. He had "left transverse sinus dural arteriovenous fistula neosurgeon operation" a week ago. The operation was a success.
I tried to find out the Chinese term of his operation but failed. However, I do manage to find the Chinese equivalents to each individual word as follows:
"left transverse sinus" = 左-橫-動靜脈竇...
dural = of or having to do with the dura mater; dura mater = durra mater = 高梁硬膜...
arteriovenous = 連接動脈與靜脈的; 動靜脈的...
fistula = 管...
neosurgeon: neo = 新; surgeon = 外科醫師...
operation = 手術...
Hopefully, this info will help you a little.
I'm sure a get-well note/card to him will be appreciated.

Thanks for resending the message. I can read the messages now.
I have been traveling in Tianjin, Beijing, and Tokyo during the last two weeks. My host in China was Tianjin Medical University. I gave a lecture and visited several hospitals in Tianjin. Believe it or not that I am actually in public health instead of sociology now. I was treated pretty well there. In addition, I spent two days in Beijing, which has always been my favorite city in China, although it has become quite commercialized.
China is literally exploding right now. It is still very cheap and the food is as good as I have had in Taiwan if not better. However, it is experiencing all the problems of rapid industrialization. The environment is seriously polluted and income inequality is increasing rapidly.
On the other hand, Japan is very orderly and civilized. I have been coming to Japan for nearly 20 years and have become quite fond of this place. The more I learn about Japan, the more it impresses me how similar it is to China. My only regret is that my Japanese is not yet good enough to enable me to understand the culture even better.
I’ll return to the US tomorrow, and will go to Taiwan on 6/16/05 for three weeks on business.
How are things going in Toronto? Hope all is well with you, Tony, and the kids. Please give my best regards to all my cohorts in college. I have not kept in touch with all of them.

I returned home from Tokyo last Saturday. I apologize again for not keeping in touch with you and my other classmates in college.
As a core social science, sociology is a very heterogeneous field and has wide applications. Although I do most of my research and teaching in gerontology and health policy, my perspective and analytical approach are essentially sociological. Nevertheless, I enjoy collaborating with individuals trained in other fields including psychology, economics, political science, engineering, medicine, genetics, and epidemiology. During the past 20 years, I have trained students in these fields as well. I have learned a great deal from working with individuals trained outside sociology. I often tell my students that one of the most important goals for education is the capacity to keep learning something new. I learned most of what I am currently teaching and studying after I finished my graduate training.
China is currently going through its industrialization at a very accelerated pace in comparison to those experienced by the western nations. Social and economic development is never smooth, but the Chinese government has managed this process during the last 27 years remarkably well. In contrasted with the other former socialist economies, China is truly exceptional. On the other hand, it must confront mounting challenges including increasing income inequality, population aging, and environmental erosion.
Japan is still struggling to boast its stagnated economy. It is also aging rapidly and with a declining population. In addition, Japan has to adjust to the increasing dominant Chinese economy. These certainly pose major challenges to the Japanese people. For these reasons, I consider myself quite fortunate to witness the unfolding of these massive social changes in East Asia, which have great ramifications globally as well.
Glad to know that you and family are all doing well. It is a little disconcerting to know that some of my age peers are retiring already. In the U.S., there is
no compulsory retirement. In fact, some of my colleagues at the University of Michigan are still working energetically in their 70's and 80's.I figure that I would probably work for at least 10 more years before I would consider retirement. Ling also works for the University of Michigan as an accountant. She is taking a calligraphy class and learning how to make seals. Jessica is currently an exchange student at the University of Tokyo and is expected to graduate from the University of Michigan with a double major in English and Asian Studies. After that, I hope that she will be interested in going to Japan and China for another couple of years before she starts her graduate training. My son, Nathan, is 12 this year, and is being coerced to study Chinese and Kumon. He is a typical 12 year old, who enjoys video and computer games a lot.
Hope the above makes up a little for being out of touch with you and the others for so long.

I just saw your message today. As you suggested, I went to the class website to find out more about our classmates. It was quite interesting to learn about what our cohorts at Chung Hsing University Sociology Department are doing. You should be commended for doing such a fabulous job with the website.
I'm going to Taiwan on 6/16/05 for a 3-week visit. I'll be teaching a short course on global aging and health at the Chang Gung University Graduate Institute of Nursing. In addition, I'll probably do some consulting. Although it is going to be hot and humid in Taiwan, I am looking to forward to seeing my relatives and friends there.
Do you have any plans to travel this year? Should you come to Michigan, do please let Ling and me know. We would love to have you and Tony visit with us.

我現在在韓國, 因為我好想女兒, 就飛來了. 小雯本來上班就很忙, 8月1日起調到業務部當Deputy Chief Sales Officer就更忙了. 我其實已經來六天了, 她都沒時間幫我寫信. 今天星期六才有空.
本來我打算要待一個月, 等過了中秋再回台北. 但是上星期源鴻突然血壓變高了, 146/96. 我不放心他一個人待台北兩星期, 所以改成9月4日跟他一起回去. 今年的體檢, 他變成"四高"- 血壓高, 膽固醇高, 三酸甘油脂高, 肝指數高. 很糟糕. 很多東西都要忌口. 畢竟年紀大了, 毛病也多了. 我們大家都要好好保養身體.
隨信附上幾張照片. 可惜這次跟蔡增全去香港 (6月1-4日) 的照片都照壞了, 不是模糊就是太暗. 還有老涂請我們吃很多美食, 我們只顧著大快朵頤, 忘了拍照留念, 真可惜. 我們6月29日 - 7月5日和小雯去西安. 西安的食物有她的特色, 但就是太油了. 我們三個輪流腹瀉. 西安的古蹟也很棒 (兵馬俑, 華清池, 秦始皇陵, 大小雁塔, 鐘鼓樓, 城牆, 碑林, 乾陵...), 相信妳都曾經在電視上看過. 因為時間的關係, 其實有很多遺珠 (華山, 茂陵, 法門寺...). 不過無所謂, 以後有機會我會再去. 這一趟西安之行, 我最喜歡的是乾陵 (唐高宗與武則天的合葬墓), 氣勢壯闊. 相形之下, 北京的明十三陵就顯得小兒科了. 兵馬俑也確實很棒, 但可能因為電視介紹太多, 所以也就沒那麼多的驚喜. 至於華清池的庭園, 復原重修的斧鑿痕跡太明顯, 失去她應有的古典韻味...
妳也知道我電腦壞很久了, 所以雖然照片早已沖好, 也只好拿到韓國來麻煩我的大心肝.

衷心感謝妳特別轉來上次被退回的信！不過，由於所附檔案中帶有invalid zip filenames，無法顯示於我的WinZip window，可能還需要妳rename所有照片的名字才行 。但是，別急，等有空時再做好嗎？謝謝！
得知妳父親的"四高"問題，很令人憂心。今後一定得十分注意飲食與小心用藥才行。請他多保重。
我自己從去年五月開始，原本高但在控制中的膽固醇，也是突然飆高，連續八個月，指標"步 步高升"至7.71(5.2是警戒線)。在飲食控制加運動一概無用後，醫生只好讓我吃藥，但是所服降膽固醇的藥，根據美國FDA新發佈的警告，是世界五大危險藥品之一 ，所以只好每三個月去驗一次血，搞得我們人心惶惶，但是也無可奈何。不知妳父親是否有用藥物控制他的問題呢？應該跟醫生問清楚，同時上網查清楚所服藥物的性能、副作用與注意事項才好。

Just learned that you guys health conditions. Hope you guys watch your health and keep good eating habit. I am doing fine and postpone all my teaching to next semester. However, I do complete three book chapters for different publishers and four articles for journals. On Sept. 20 I will go to Chengdu, Sichuan to attend an international conference on aging population and health, after that conference I'll go to Beijing to discuss my longitudinal survey on elderly population with BeiDa. In late October I'll come to Taipei to attend a Taiwan-France conference on lowest-low fertility. Hope to be able to email you guys some of those pictures later. I plan to go back to Albany in early November and stay for a while before next semester starts.
I know Cherry is doing very well in Korea and hope to be able to see you in Taipei and HK if you transfer to HK in the near future.

As I have not checked my e-mails at my Yahoo.com address for a while, I just learned of your problem with high cholesterol. Do please take care of yourself.
I am glad that you have done some research concerning the medication you are taking right now. It is critical for all of us to be informed of and take more responsibility for our health and health care. Personally, I find WebMD.com very useful in learning about diseases and their treatments. In fact, I often use it to look up medical information for my teaching and research.
I do hope that you and your family have had a pleasant summer, despite your health problem. During last summer, I spent in total nearly six weeks in Beijing, Tianjin, Tokyo, and Taipei. My schedule was extremely tight, when I was in Taipei. As a result, I did not contact Kong Fa-wei and Cheng Shio-yin. I’ll definitely have to try getting together with them during my next visit.
Right after I returned to Ann Arbor, I hosted a one-week executive health management institute for a group of some 20 faculty members and graduate students from the National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaoshiung. I was quite impressed by their interests in health management and policy in the United States and the way they shopped around Ann Arbor. Although it was somewhat exhausting for me, it was a lot fun.
My daughter, Jessica, just completed two terms of study at the University of Tokyo as an exchange student and will be graduating from the University of Michigan by the end of this year. My son, Nathan, is now in the 7th grade. Come to think of it, Ling and I are way behind our peers in our parental careers.
Do you remember Mike Tang in Toronto? Mike and I have not seen each other probably for 20 years. I spoke to him over the phone the other day, and we agreed that I would take my family to visit him and Jennifer around October 1 this year. We’ll call you when we are in Toronto.

回來二天了，今天才向妳報到。返台二個月，婚禮沒累到我，倒是三個颱風及那三十多度C的高溫把我整慘了，在溫哥華12年，早忘了夏天是什麼滋味，以及那種從冷氣間出來馬上眼鏡佈滿霧氣讓你什麼都看不到的狼狽；加上第一個禮拜我就因撐傘不慎刺傷了眼睛﹝現已沒事﹞，說是回去幫忙，反倒成了trouble maker。幸好女兒女婿都是廣告人，有的是相關的人脈，他們自己設計、企劃，動用了一堆高手配合，然後完成了一個極富創意及高評價的婚宴，讓我這回去了好久又完全幫不上忙的老媽，不得不由衷的佩服和感動。
這次我沒敢驚動同學，只請了寇紹敉及先生代表本班，在紹敉家看到她們一家三代幸福和樂的景象，讓我這剛晉升為丈母娘的“新鮮人”，好生羨慕與期待，不過，年輕人有年輕人自己的規劃，他們快樂我就滿足，其他都不重要，不是嗎？
這次婚宴把很多我們久違的朋友都聚集起來了，有些朋友還因為這次聚會又連絡上其他久違的朋友，每天都有太多的驚喜和感動，讓八年沒有返台原本計劃只待10天的龍驤，把行期一延再延，到最後待了足足一個月，我也就陪著他玩遍了台北，吃遍了懷念的小吃，到前天才意猶未盡的回家。
選了幾張照片請妳過目，或許可以從中挑選一些po上我們的Blog.。 對了，說到我們的class '69 cafe，那又是另一個感動，真不知該怎麼謝謝妳為我們的費心費力，每次上這個網站就有一種溫暖欣悅的感覺，也只有妳能為我們做到。

Thank you for your e-card. We are now in Seattle (since Dec 10), visiting Charlotte and her family (and our three granddaughters!!) for a short vacation. We are flying to NYC next Tuesday to visit Effie's mother, and back to Singapore on Jan 9.

有一件事一直忘了問妳，自從我上次電腦中毒Austin 幫我重建之後，我在我們班網頁的通訊綠上，就再看不到各同學的照片及家庭簡介﹝只有一份整齊的姓名及地址電話名單﹞，問Austin，他說可能妳因容量的關係把它取消了，
但妳又偶爾會傳來同學的有新照片的通知，﹝雖然我總是找來找去看不到﹞，我心裡一直納悶，會不會是我的電腦少裝了什麼東西？

Happy New Year!!!
I am using mama's e-mail account sending this mail from Seoul. Mama's account on my laptop in Seoul has no problem receiving and sending e-mails. However, there is still some problem with the POP3 setting for our antique PC (Dial-up, 4 MB RAM and Win 98 still...) in Taipei. Now from Taipei we can only receive mails but unable to send. I guess we will wait till next time I go back to Taipei.
I check mama's e-mail everyday. If there is any mail from the classmates, I always forward those mails to papa's office address. Consequently, the 3 returned mails you mentioned over the phone should not be PC home's sever problem. I will keep checking mama's mail as usual.
Seoul is 14F recently. I assume Toronto is no better. Please keep warm.

Just want to inform you that our beloved Tu Bobo (涂肇慶) was in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong, for a month since March 14, 2005.Fortunately, he is back to his Hong Kong home to recuperate now. He had "left transverse sinus dural arteriovenous fistula neosurgeon operation" a week ago. The operation was a success.
I tried to find out the Chinese term of his operation but failed. However, I do manage to find the Chinese equivalents to each individual word as follows:
"left transverse sinus" = 左-橫-動靜脈竇...
dural = of or having to do with the dura mater; dura mater = durra mater = 高梁硬膜...
arteriovenous = 連接動脈與靜脈的; 動靜脈的...
fistula = 管...
neosurgeon: neo = 新; surgeon = 外科醫師...
operation = 手術...
Hopefully, this info will help you a little.
I'm sure a get-well note/card to him will be appreciated.

I have been traveling in Tianjin, Beijing, and Tokyo during the last two weeks. My host in China was Tianjin Medical University. I gave a lecture and visited several hospitals in Tianjin. Believe it or not that I am actually in public health instead of sociology now. I was treated pretty well there. In addition, I spent two days in Beijing, which has always been my favorite city in China, although it has become quite commercialized.
China is literally exploding right now. It is still very cheap and the food is as good as I have had in Taiwan if not better. However, it is experiencing all the problems of rapid industrialization. The environment is seriously polluted and income inequality is increasing rapidly.
On the other hand, Japan is very orderly and civilized. I have been coming to Japan for nearly 20 years and have become quite fond of this place. The more I learn about Japan, the more it impresses me how similar it is to China. My only regret is that my Japanese is not yet good enough to enable me to understand the culture even better.
I’ll return to the US tomorrow, and will go to Taiwan on 6/16/05 for three weeks on business.
How are things going in Toronto? Hope all is well with you, Tony, and the kids. Please give my best regards to all my cohorts in college. I have not kept in touch with all of them.

I returned home from Tokyo last Saturday. I apologize again for not keeping in touch with you and my other classmates in college.
As a core social science, sociology is a very heterogeneous field and has wide applications. Although I do most of my research and teaching in gerontology and health policy, my perspective and analytical approach are essentially sociological. Nevertheless, I enjoy collaborating with individuals trained in other fields including psychology, economics, political science, engineering, medicine, genetics, and epidemiology. During the past 20 years, I have trained students in these fields as well. I have learned a great deal from working with individuals trained outside sociology. I often tell my students that one of the most important goals for education is the capacity to keep learning something new. I learned most of what I am currently teaching and studying after I finished my graduate training.
China is currently going through its industrialization at a very accelerated pace in comparison to those experienced by the western nations. Social and economic development is never smooth, but the Chinese government has managed this process during the last 27 years remarkably well. In contrasted with the other former socialist economies, China is truly exceptional. On the other hand, it must confront mounting challenges including increasing income inequality, population aging, and environmental erosion.
Japan is still struggling to boast its stagnated economy. It is also aging rapidly and with a declining population. In addition, Japan has to adjust to the increasing dominant Chinese economy. These certainly pose major challenges to the Japanese people. For these reasons, I consider myself quite fortunate to witness the unfolding of these massive social changes in East Asia, which have great ramifications globally as well.
Glad to know that you and family are all doing well. It is a little disconcerting to know that some of my age peers are retiring already. In the U.S., there is
no compulsory retirement. In fact, some of my colleagues at the University of Michigan are still working energetically in their 70's and 80's.I figure that I would probably work for at least 10 more years before I would consider retirement. Ling also works for the University of Michigan as an accountant. She is taking a calligraphy class and learning how to make seals. Jessica is currently an exchange student at the University of Tokyo and is expected to graduate from the University of Michigan with a double major in English and Asian Studies. After that, I hope that she will be interested in going to Japan and China for another couple of years before she starts her graduate training. My son, Nathan, is 12 this year, and is being coerced to study Chinese and Kumon. He is a typical 12 year old, who enjoys video and computer games a lot.
Hope the above makes up a little for being out of touch with you and the others for so long.

I just saw your message today. As you suggested, I went to the class website to find out more about our classmates. It was quite interesting to learn about what our cohorts at Chung Hsing University Sociology Department are doing. You should be commended for doing such a fabulous job with the website.
I'm going to Taiwan on 6/16/05 for a 3-week visit. I'll be teaching a short course on global aging and health at the Chang Gung University Graduate Institute of Nursing. In addition, I'll probably do some consulting. Although it is going to be hot and humid in Taiwan, I am looking to forward to seeing my relatives and friends there.
Do you have any plans to travel this year? Should you come to Michigan, do please let Ling and me know. We would love to have you and Tony visit with us.

我現在在韓國, 因為我好想女兒, 就飛來了. 小雯本來上班就很忙, 8月1日起調到業務部當Deputy Chief Sales Officer就更忙了. 我其實已經來六天了, 她都沒時間幫我寫信. 今天星期六才有空.
本來我打算要待一個月, 等過了中秋再回台北. 但是上星期源鴻突然血壓變高了, 146/96. 我不放心他一個人待台北兩星期, 所以改成9月4日跟他一起回去. 今年的體檢, 他變成"四高"- 血壓高, 膽固醇高, 三酸甘油脂高, 肝指數高. 很糟糕. 很多東西都要忌口. 畢竟年紀大了, 毛病也多了. 我們大家都要好好保養身體.
隨信附上幾張照片. 可惜這次跟蔡增全去香港 (6月1-4日) 的照片都照壞了, 不是模糊就是太暗. 還有老涂請我們吃很多美食, 我們只顧著大快朵頤, 忘了拍照留念, 真可惜. 我們6月29日 - 7月5日和小雯去西安. 西安的食物有她的特色, 但就是太油了. 我們三個輪流腹瀉. 西安的古蹟也很棒 (兵馬俑, 華清池, 秦始皇陵, 大小雁塔, 鐘鼓樓, 城牆, 碑林, 乾陵...), 相信妳都曾經在電視上看過. 因為時間的關係, 其實有很多遺珠 (華山, 茂陵, 法門寺...). 不過無所謂, 以後有機會我會再去. 這一趟西安之行, 我最喜歡的是乾陵 (唐高宗與武則天的合葬墓), 氣勢壯闊. 相形之下, 北京的明十三陵就顯得小兒科了. 兵馬俑也確實很棒, 但可能因為電視介紹太多, 所以也就沒那麼多的驚喜. 至於華清池的庭園, 復原重修的斧鑿痕跡太明顯, 失去她應有的古典韻味...
妳也知道我電腦壞很久了, 所以雖然照片早已沖好, 也只好拿到韓國來麻煩我的大心肝.

得知妳父親的"四高"問題，很令人憂心。今後一定得十分注意飲食與小心用藥才行。請他多保重。
我自己從去年五月開始，原本高但在控制中的膽固醇，也是突然飆高，連續八個月，指標"步 步高升"至7.71(5.2是警戒線)。在飲食控制加運動一概無用後，醫生只好讓我吃藥，但是所服降膽固醇的藥，根據美國FDA新發佈的警告，是世界五大危險藥品之一 ，所以只好每三個月去驗一次血，搞得我們人心惶惶，但是也無可奈何。不知妳父親是否有用藥物控制他的問題呢？應該跟醫生問清楚，同時上網查清楚所服藥物的性能、副作用與注意事項才好。

Just learned that you guys health conditions. Hope you guys watch your health and keep good eating habit. I am doing fine and postpone all my teaching to next semester. However, I do complete three book chapters for different publishers and four articles for journals. On Sept. 20 I will go to Chengdu, Sichuan to attend an international conference on aging population and health, after that conference I'll go to Beijing to discuss my longitudinal survey on elderly population with BeiDa. In late October I'll come to Taipei to attend a Taiwan-France conference on lowest-low fertility. Hope to be able to email you guys some of those pictures later. I plan to go back to Albany in early November and stay for a while before next semester starts.
I know Cherry is doing very well in Korea and hope to be able to see you in Taipei and HK if you transfer to HK in the near future.

As I have not checked my e-mails at my Yahoo.com address for a while, I just learned of your problem with high cholesterol. Do please take care of yourself.
I am glad that you have done some research concerning the medication you are taking right now. It is critical for all of us to be informed of and take more responsibility for our health and health care. Personally, I find WebMD.com very useful in learning about diseases and their treatments. In fact, I often use it to look up medical information for my teaching and research.
I do hope that you and your family have had a pleasant summer, despite your health problem. During last summer, I spent in total nearly six weeks in Beijing, Tianjin, Tokyo, and Taipei. My schedule was extremely tight, when I was in Taipei. As a result, I did not contact Kong Fa-wei and Cheng Shio-yin. I’ll definitely have to try getting together with them during my next visit.
Right after I returned to Ann Arbor, I hosted a one-week executive health management institute for a group of some 20 faculty members and graduate students from the National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaoshiung. I was quite impressed by their interests in health management and policy in the United States and the way they shopped around Ann Arbor. Although it was somewhat exhausting for me, it was a lot fun.
My daughter, Jessica, just completed two terms of study at the University of Tokyo as an exchange student and will be graduating from the University of Michigan by the end of this year. My son, Nathan, is now in the 7th grade. Come to think of it, Ling and I are way behind our peers in our parental careers.
Do you remember Mike Tang in Toronto? Mike and I have not seen each other probably for 20 years. I spoke to him over the phone the other day, and we agreed that I would take my family to visit him and Jennifer around October 1 this year. We’ll call you when we are in Toronto.

回來二天了，今天才向妳報到。返台二個月，婚禮沒累到我，倒是三個颱風及那三十多度C的高溫把我整慘了，在溫哥華12年，早忘了夏天是什麼滋味，以及那種從冷氣間出來馬上眼鏡佈滿霧氣讓你什麼都看不到的狼狽；加上第一個禮拜我就因撐傘不慎刺傷了眼睛﹝現已沒事﹞，說是回去幫忙，反倒成了trouble maker。幸好女兒女婿都是廣告人，有的是相關的人脈，他們自己設計、企劃，動用了一堆高手配合，然後完成了一個極富創意及高評價的婚宴，讓我這回去了好久又完全幫不上忙的老媽，不得不由衷的佩服和感動。
這次我沒敢驚動同學，只請了寇紹敉及先生代表本班，在紹敉家看到她們一家三代幸福和樂的景象，讓我這剛晉升為丈母娘的“新鮮人”，好生羨慕與期待，不過，年輕人有年輕人自己的規劃，他們快樂我就滿足，其他都不重要，不是嗎？
這次婚宴把很多我們久違的朋友都聚集起來了，有些朋友還因為這次聚會又連絡上其他久違的朋友，每天都有太多的驚喜和感動，讓八年沒有返台原本計劃只待10天的龍驤，把行期一延再延，到最後待了足足一個月，我也就陪著他玩遍了台北，吃遍了懷念的小吃，到前天才意猶未盡的回家。
選了幾張照片請妳過目，或許可以從中挑選一些po上我們的Blog.。 對了，說到我們的class '69 cafe，那又是另一個感動，真不知該怎麼謝謝妳為我們的費心費力，每次上這個網站就有一種溫暖欣悅的感覺，也只有妳能為我們做到。

Thank you for your e-card. We are now in Seattle (since Dec 10), visiting Charlotte and her family (and our three granddaughters!!) for a short vacation. We are flying to NYC next Tuesday to visit Effie's mother, and back to Singapore on Jan 9.
Here attached is our 2005 New Year letter, ready on this New Year Eve. Let me know if you have problem opening it. I will send you some photos separately. You can include this in the Chung Hsing 1969 class website as my greetings to all. You have done such a great job in maintaining the website and keeping the life-long friendship of all together, after more than 45 years!!
